Strammer Max is a traditional German dish that is quick and easy to prepare and can be made in many variations. It usually consists of a good slice of bread made from wheat and rye flour, cooked ham or bacon and fried eggs sunny side up. Apart from those basic ingredients there are many other condiments that can be added. Very popular are gherkins, "Senfgurken" / Pickled mustard cucumbers, Tomatoes,
fried onions, butter, garlic and mustard to name only a few. Although the dish originated in the area around Berlin it is these days popular all over Germany and prepared at home as well as in pubs and Restaurants.
