Milchreis is the German version of rice pudding. It's a sweet dessert that is popular in countries all over the world.
The dish is obviously a children's favorite but many adults that have a sweet tooth can't resist a bowl of rice pudding either. Some sources claim that the first rice pudding recipe originated in Persia. In Germany Milchreis is usually served with cinnamon and sugar, applesauce, hot cherries, strawberries or other fruits.
